PZ Kids Camp 2008

In June we had PZ kids camp for children in kindergarten - 5th grade. It was held at our church, Grace Fellowship. Parker had a great week. Here are just a few of my favorite pics of my family during that week. There are a few other pics of friends and students that I thought turned out to be fun pictures. I absolutely love hiding behind the camera. The fun part is that I got to use our small groups pastor's Nikon. It rocked! He wasn't willing to give it to me as a gift...so not nice! Enjoy!

Life is grand...I got to spend my 40th birthday on a cruise ship. Rocky and I went on a cruise with Gary and Raquel Skidmore last week. We had the most amazing time. We had stops in Montego Bay, Jamaica (which I advise never to go again or at least not get off the boat to see it), Grand Cayman (which has the bluest water ever) and Cozemel, Mexico (which is also beautiful). I did not want to get off the boat. We had the best service ever. Royal Caribbean is the way to go. If you want a great example of "customer friendly service" then go on a Royal Caribbean cruise. The staff was incredible. We played cards, which Raquel always seem to win, except when she did her Charo impersonation. Here are a few pictures from our week. Enjoy!

Ten years ago...I was teaching at Pasadena High School with an infant at home with her daddy! I was coaching softball and ironically we were serving with BJ Rutledge, which is were we are at again! Too funny.

My to-do list today:
1. Work the Easter services at Grace Fellowship.
2. Watch my netflix movies.
3. Get the laundry finished before school tomorrow.

What I would do if I suddenly became a billionaire...
1. Pay off our debt.
2. Build new facilities for Grace Fellowship.
3. Get Rocky a new truck with unlimited gasoline...the 1996 Civic still lives.

Three bad habits...
1. Eating no fruits or vegetables.
2. Putting off housework til the last minute.
3. Eating lots of candy!!!

1. I hate the smell of bananas.

Snow Day in March

March 6th brought snow to North Texas and boy did the fun begin. On Thursday morning we headed to school with our winter clothes on anticipating a "few" snow flurries...you know the weather in Texas - it's never accurate. The snow was supposed to arrive at 3pm in our area, but God had better plans. At 10:30am I could see the first of the snow to fall and by 10:45 it looked like a Colorado blizzard outside. I tried to hide my excitement from my students. I had already told my students at 9:45 that we would not be coming to school on Friday. They looked shocked until I told them that the "power of positive thinking" would work. Then I told them to start praying for snow. We did our lesson for the day and then 5 minutes before the bell I said, in my angry voice, "Who's been praying?" They all looked at me strange and then I said laughing and dancing, "Cause it's SNOWING!" They all went wild and rushed the window. They were pumped and so was I. We had fun the rest of the day.

The funny part was that the snow was so bad that parents started arriving to pick up students. The office was sending people to get students but then the line was so long that they just started calling them over the intercom. Every 2 minutes or less they would call for students. They office workers had an assembly line and they were writing down student names and passing them to the receptionist who was calling for them. Our principal kept slipping in funny names...EXAMPLE: Coach Jennings, your mom is here to pick you up; Frosty the Snowman to the office please; Brett Favre to the office. The one about Coach Jennings was the best. The kids erupted into laughter. It was great.

Father Daugher Dance

Friday night brought my girls to their first father-daughter dance. The women's club of Decatur sponsored a Father-Daughter Dance for Valentine's. It was called "Denim to Diamonds." My girls chose to wear denim...go figure! They had a great time. They danced, laughed, and snacked for two hours. Parker discovered the chocolate fountain and almost made herself sick on chocolate-covered strawberries. Here are a few pictures below of all the fun they had.

Every year Rocky and I send out photo Christmas cards. We have done this for 15 years now. This year was so fun. The girls hate slowing down for photo day, but we went outside and managed to get them to smile for the camera for about 15 minutes. I put together a slide show of some of our favorite pictures. They acted silly as usual. We haven't sent out a serious photo for several years now.

We spent Christmas morning at our new house in Texas. Santa was very good to the girls this year. Parker received drums...what was Santa thinking? Anna Beth got an ipod nano. Here's a picture of our Rutledge children. As you can see they are no longer children. The story goes like this: BJ Rutledge was Rocky's youth minister in Bossier City, LA. Rocky was BJ's youth intern when he graduated high school. Rocky became a youth minister and served with BJ in Deer Park, TX. Jeremy and Julie were in Rocky's ministry...Josh was a 5th grader then. Since that time, we have seen Jeremy graduate high school and college; Julie graduate high school, college, and marry; Josh graduate high school and start college. Now, Jeremy is Parker's children minister and Josh is the youth intern and works with Anna Beth. Isn't that too cool? As for Julie, well, I get the privilege of hanging out with her as a newly wed. That brings back fun memories. I get to see her in that role and she gets to see me as an "old" mom. She gets to see other things about me and I'm not sure how good that is for her!! Our relationship is very similar to the one I have with her mom. Ten years ago it was Janet and I in the boat...me - a young married girl with no children and her - the mother of three. Now I get to be the mother of TWO not three and Julie the young married girl with no children. The next time we head to the hospital (they were all their for the birth of Anna Beth) I will be the one video taping instead of being the one on the other side of the camera...thanks BJ. This time I get to play "aunt" and Janet will be "grandma."

EC Late Night

Tonight was our first official "late night" with 5th and 6th graders. Remind me why I teach middle school and then go hang out with them more til 11:00pm at night? We had a great turn out...about 40 kids. They were goofy all night. Here are a few pictures of some of my family getting goofy. I can never just watch when the inflatables arrive. You would think by now I would learn my lesson. Rocky and I jousted. He cheated and won. Then I got revenge...wrestling the old-fashion way.

Fun with the McCown's

The McCown's, our friends from Nacogdoches, TX, came to see us this past weekend. Tracy led a preschool training for us at church. Our kids were in rare form as always. They had a great time playing guitar hero, the Wii (which by the way, left me sore for two days...how pitiful is that) while we waited on Rocky and Tracy to finish their training. Staff Development at Camp Thurman

This has been a long week for me. It was a week filled with staff development. However, on Friday our principal took us to Camp Thurman in Arlington for team building activities. It was a great day. We had so much fun. We also had fun getting to know one another outside of school. I packed my camera and took as many pictures as I could while we were performing activities. It was the best staff development I have had in years. Just the fact that we didn't have to sit through another meeting was the best part. It was hot, but well worth every minute. I hope you enjoy seeing some of my collegues hard at work.

Anna Beth's Birthday

It finally happened. Rocky and I finally gave AB her birthday party. Her birthday was June 21 and we were in Chicago. She had a family birthday party in Louisiana and has been asking to have one with friends. We finally were able to fit it into our schedule before school started. She invited four friends to "Let's Jump" - an indoor facility with large inflatables. We left our house at 10:15am. Upon arriving at Let's Jump the girls went crazy. They were sweating after about 15 minutes. We jumped until noon and then headed for Chick-fil-A for lunch. After lunch it was back for more jumping. We left to head home at 2:30. It was a full day of jumping, but I think they had a blast. Rocky and I had fun just watching them and taking pictures. Check out the pics and a video of all their fun.

Sunday Fun

Sunday was a great time for fun in the sun! After church we ventured to the Rutledge's house for burgers and swimming. There were several families there. We had a great time. Chris and Debbie taught our girls to dive off the diving board. Parker and Anna Beth both learned to do a cannonball...alot of swimming firsts for the girls. They had a great time and we had a great time watching them.

After everyone left, we hung around to play cards. However, we ended up playing dominos...after we made our Dairy Queen run! You know "everybody likes parfaits." Chris was the winner of mexican dominos and BJ was the "green weinie." The boys kept us laughing the entire game.

Vacation...Camping in Louisiana

Our family went camping for a week in Louisiana at Lake Bruin. We had a great time. The girls enjoyed riding their bikes, swimming, riding the tube, fishing, playing with Corbin (their cousing that they just met), and playing with Gus...the dog. Rocky enjoyed fishing. He always enjoys that. We were sure how our week was going to go when Parker hooked herself on our first day there. It was not a fun time. She hooked her leg while carrying her fishing rod. Rocky and I had to hold her still while my dad pulled out the hook. Luckily, she was fine. We did have a relaxing week camping. However, I am not sure if Rocky and my dad thought it was very relaxing fishing with me. Just call me the "high maintenance" fisherwoman. I had to keep them on their toes.

Our new house

I finally got enough boxes cleared out of my house to take some pictures. We have officially been moved in now for two weeks. My garage is still full of boxes. I am slowly going through each one and boxing back up the items I want to rummage. We are so thankful for our new house and are enjoying every minute of it. The girls are especially enjoying the pool in the subdivision. I will be emailing out our new address and phone number soon!

Chicago Mission Trip

We are home after spending a week in the Roseland Community of Chicago, IL. What a great time we had serving along side the staff at the Agape Center. Each day from 12-4pm we house over 100 children for kid's camp. We took 43 students/adults on the trip. Our mornings were spent preparing for camp that day. Evenings were free time so we got to see a little bit of the city. I created a slide show of some of my favorite pictures. Here is Thursday's video from PowerZone Kid's Camp. The kids had a great time. Thursday's theme was endurance and track/field day. We wore them out running today. "Flash Johnson: fastest man in the world" made his appearance today. It was quite a riot! Needless to say, he was such a hit that he came out during the welcome on Sunday morning. He gave a report from Kid's Camp, challenge BJ (our pastor) to a race, then ask our the Father's Day message, "Trick My Bike"...which he said he wanted to know more about how to "trick his wife." You just never know what he will say when you give him a microphone! Scary! He is still fortunate that his daughter's are not embarrassed by him yet. All Anna Beth's friends asked her at camp did it bother her that her daddy was so crazy. She just laughed and said how much she liked it!

Landscaping

The yard at our house has been landscaped. Yippee! The only bad part is we didn't get to pick the tree they planted. I do not like Bradford Pear trees. They grow out and cover your house. So, hopefully we can find a tree. I've been online looking. I need to talk to a nursery to see what type of trees grow well in this area. I really like the red maple. They also planted a crepe myrtle in my flower bed...that has to go to the back yard. I want a tulip tree or japanese maple. Here are a few pictures of the house. Also, the lighting got changed to the brown ones we ordered.

PowerZone Kid's Camp

PowerZone camp has officially started. Today we start day four. The first three days have been a blast. Each day focuses on a new word and a new sport. Monday's theme was cooperation and soccer. Tuesday's theme was discipline and football. Wednesday's theme was individuality and basketball. The kids have been having a great time...mine especially. Here's a slide show of some pictures I have captured of my own children and my third child, Rocky! He has been a different character everyday. He just can't resist dressing up!

Tile Floors

The tile floors are being laid. The lighting fixtures have been installed...oops...they put the wrong ones in. I ordered to rust colored fixtures and they have installed brushed nickel. It is really starting to look finished. We do our walk-through on June 15. Everything will be finished by next Friday. I can't believe it. After our inspection, they will fix anything that needs fixing. We leave for Chicago on Sunday and when we return we will have our closing. The day is approaching fast. Countertops

Yippee! We have countertops. The tile should be layed early next week. There was a problem with the order but it has been straightened out. We are still on-schedule. Looks like our closing date is June 25. I am too excited about that. I have already picked out my colors to paint inside. Yes, I will still paint a brand new house. However, my philosophy has changed some. I am only painting "accent" walls. I will paint one wall in each bedroom, the two walls in my dining (it only has two because it is part of the living area), the living room walls, and possibly some walls in my bath. AB wants turqouise in her room to match her new bedding. Parker cannot decide...go figure! I want a metallic gold color in my room. Started out wanting pale blue (ice blue color) and dark brown. Instead, I found black and white bedding that I love...so I think the gold will look great with my new black bed from Johnson's Furniture! Yippee! The living room will be the same color, or as close and I can get it, to the color we had in Nac in our living/dining area. The dining room is the trouble area. I want this mustard or pea green color (looks like something I changed in my girls diapers) but Rocky doesn't like either one. Maybe I will wait until he goes to youth camp to paint the dining...he! he! he!

The entire inside of our house has been painted now. They will install countertops next week. They will also start laying the tile early next week. It is looking more and more like a house...yippee! The outside has been painted. The front door still has to be stained. I have picked out the swatches that I will paint once we close. You know I can't leave a house with the same color for every wall. We are pumped and looking forward to our move!

Michigan - Baylor Softball Game

There is a moment in time where all things come together and that moment is perfect. This weekend was the moment for Anna Beth and me. Anna Beth fell in love with Michigan University softball team two years ago. I introduced her to college softball during the NCAA Softball College World Series. ESPN showed every game on television in 2005. AB does not play softball yet, but I decided that watching it would be a good way to introduce her to the game. Who knew that she would love it so much. That year Michigan was the "underdog" team. Their pitcher was a senior who had just lost one of her family members just months before the world series. I think it was her sister, but having a hard time remembering. That just made us cheer more for them. I always cheer for any team playing the west coast teams. Arizona and UCLA have won too many titles to count. Michigan made it to the championship round. The played UCLA for the title. You have to win 2 out of 3 to be champion. Here's how it played out: both teams had won one game, final game scored was tied 1-1 in the 10th inning, Michigan was home team, with two runners on base UCLA decided to pitch to freshman Samantha Findley, Samantha cranked the first pitch over the fence to win the game. AB went wild. She decided that she and mommy should go to Michigan to watch all their games. We had to have a geography lesson on where Michigan was actually located on the map!

Now present day...Michigan made it to the sweet 16 round. Only 8 teams go to the world series. The teams are posted and Michigan is headed to Waco to Baylor. I was on the phone at 8am the next day trying to get tickets. Amazingly enough, I got them. When I told AB she was estatic! We drove down on Friday after school and watched the first game. Michigan lost 9-0. They played horrible. It didn't matter, AB still wore her Michigan hat and cheered as we sat in the middle of Baylor fans. She was loving it and they were loving her.

Saturday finally game and so did the rain. The game was delayed until 2pm. Michigan came out on fire. They won 3-0. AB couldn't be happier. She screamed and screamed. However, Baylor wasn't ready to throw in the towel. They opened the final game with a 2-run homerun in the first inning. That didn't stop AB from cheering. The louder the Baylor fans were the louder AB got. Those old people around us couldn't stop smiling at her. Michigan did lose, but AB didn't lose her spirit. She congratulated all the fans around us for winning. Then we headed for the impossible...the get Samantha Findley's autograph. How do you explain to a 9 year old that this may not happen. As a college player myself, I know what it is like to make it to this particular game and lose. I wasn't sure their coach would let them talk, or if they would even feel like talking. We waited and watched patiently outside their dugout. Many immerged crying. I told AB that I wasn't sure this would be a good time, but that we would wait. Finally, we saw Samatha. AB said, "Is she crying?" When I noticed that she wasn't and that she was talking to other players, I told AB it was ok to approach her. She walked up to her and asked for her autograph. Samantha graciously accepted and signed AB's program. What a great experience! AB asked could she call her daddy and tell him. Yes, she was upset that Michigan lost, but she couldn't be more excited about getting Samantha's autograph!

That was the moment as a mom that I think I will always remember! Great times!

Today is Monday, April 23 and our house is in the process of being framed. Notice how the workers are still there working at 7:30 at night. Unfortunately, rain is in the forecast for the next few days. Each new day brings more and more excitement for us.

Ranger's Game

Friday night our family was invited to watch the Texas Rangers play. Our seats were in the suites located by center field. The company that built our church has a suite there. It was a view that I may never have again. Fun! Fun! We watched from the patio and had free food and drinks all night.

Saturday rolled around and we were back at the ballpark. This time we had tickets right above 3rd base. We went with the McCown's from Nacogdoches. Tracy's parents were given tickets and they invited us to go with them. We had so much fun. The girls and Sheldon had a great time. Even though they haven't seen each other in some time, it was like they picked up where they left off. They act more like siblings than friends. We had such a fun time with them. It was a great game...the Rangers won!

House Update

The foundation has been poured for our house. We are so excited. The only sad part is how small the house looks. I can't wait until walls are up so it starts looking like a house. Estimated move in date is third week of June. They are already three weeks behind due to weather. However, Troy, our builder thinks they will be able to make that up.

Easter 2007

Easter at Grace Fellowship was awesome. We had around 1900 people and 3 services. We are enjoying the new church facility. Rocky has a new title, Family Pastor. The girls and I are surviving school. We are counting down the days until summer...only 32 more school days. YIPPEE! Below you will see some pics from Easter. Anna Beth was so excited about not wearing a dress this year. She got to wear her "Chillin' with my Peeps" t-shirt. I especially loved my jeans and converse. Parker is just happy to wear no shoes and play in PowerZone (children's worship). Rocky was looking handsome as always.

We are enjoying life. Church is great. We are steadily making new friends at church and at school. Summer is just around the corner and so is our new house. We hope to be in it by the end of June. It should be ready around the 3rd week of June. Unfortunately, we will be in Chicago during that time so our closing date will probably be pushed back. But who can complain...we are talking CHICAGO and a mission trip at that. Fun! Fun! Fun!

We miss all our friends in Nac...come see us. We are enjoying our new friends in Bridgeport/Decatur/Paradise...come see us!

Sometimes you find yourself lucky to catch a moment on camera. I had such luck. I caught my six year old daughter singing in the bathtub. She was having a great time until she saw my camera. I couldn't resist sharing the moment with you.

Christmas with the Johnson Family

After Christmas we headed to Bossier City to spend time with Rocky's family. We had a great time opening gifts and hanging out with Nana and PopPop. We also went to see MeMaw and PePaw, the girls' great grandparents. After that we headed down to the Boardwalk to spend some of our Christmas money. It didn't take the girls long to do that. They made a stuffed animal at the Build-a-Bear store.

Each year my dad's family gathers at my parent's house for a time of fun, fun, fun! We spend alot of time catching up and eating. It makes for a great night. Here are a few pictures of our time together.

My dad is the oldest Arrant sibling. This is his family. My parents are on the fireplace hearth. My brother (Darrell), his wife (Denetta), and their daughter (Megan) are on the left side of the photo. My sister (Gaye), her husband (Ricky), and their children (Adam, Kristin, and Wes) are on the right side. Me and my gang are in the center.

For Christmas this year, Rocky and I pulled our own little surprise for Anna Beth. She received a poster of Clint Dempsey that I made from her favorite photos. But the best part was that our friend, Patti Goodrum, chased down Clint in Nacogdoches and had him sign it for Anna Beth. She loved the poster but was really surprised when she saw it was signed by Clint. Clint liked the poster so much that Patti made a copy for him for his mom for Christmas. I videotaped AB opening her poster. I laughed at how crazy we sounded on the video. Enjoy!

A Closer Look at Decatur, Texas

Today I decided to take a driving tour of Decatur. Good thing I had my camera with me. I found some great old buildings and a lot of history. Decatur has much to see once you get away from the interstate.

This is the Whistle Stop Cafe. It has great breakfast food and the biggest pancakes I have ever seen. We took the girls to eat breakfast there this morning. They both ordered pancakes and neither girl could finish it. Come see us and we will stop by and eat lunch or breakfast.

High School Musical

Our family spent December 16, 2006, in Bossier City, LA. Our Christmas present to our girls were tickets to see High School Musical the Concert. We went with the Skidmore family. Drive Conference - what a better place to have video car driving games. This is the church where Andy Stanley is the pastor. We went to learn how to better equip us as ministers/volunteers at Grace Fellowship. WOW! If you want to visit a church that is "doing it" right go to this church. I loved the motto of the conference...Because we're not there yet. The staff was very transparent, shared with us what they were doing that seemed to be successful in reaching people, what they have changed, and how to find what best fits your church. It was so refreshing.

First Missing Tooth

Just days before her sixth birthday, Parker lost her first tooth. She was so excited. The tooth has been loose for just a few days. Little "Miss Impatient" has not been able to leave the poor tooth alone. Today she worked it so much that I was finally able to pull it. Yes, me...not her father, the weakling. You know how he faints at the sight of blood. Her eyes grew big when I finally got my humongous fingers on it and started to pull it out. She has been smiling ever since.

Grace Fellowship Staff Dinner

Last Friday, August 11th, I spent my first night with the staff from Grace Fellowship Church. Rocky went on a short staff retreat for a time of planning and fellowship. 1st Day of School

It is official...school has started. Actually, Anna Beth, Parker, and I have just completed our first full week of school. Each passing day gets a little easier for the girls. They are enjoying their new school. They really enjoy walking over to my school every afternoon and coming into my class. It is not the best of plans but seems to work for now. As soon as the dismissal bell rings Anna Beth begins to play teacher. It makes me wonder what profession she may choose! Ha!

I took pictures of the girls with their teachers. Anna Beth's teacher is Ms. Crume. She is so nice and Anna Beth seems to really like her. Parker's teacher is Mrs. Brewer. This is her first year to teach. She also just moved to Northwest ISD from Witchita Falls. She is such a cute teacher. Parker likes her alot.

Johnson's on the Move

Yes, we have moved! Rocky took a youth minister position at Grace Fellowship Church. They currently meet in Paradise High School in Paradise, TX. The church is in a building process right now. The purchased 50 acres in Paradise and the walls starting going up this week. It should be ready for move in May 2007.

I got a teaching job in Northwest ISD. I will teach at Chisholm Trail Middle School in Rhome, TX. I have been in staff development this past week and so far, so good. I really like my principal and the teachers that I have met. We have spent much time laughing. That is a good sign. They also went from a TEA acceptable campus to a recognized campus. For those of you not familiar to TAKS testing that just means that the students did much better on their state standarized tests.

We are living in Decatur, TX. It is about 45 minutes northwest of Ft. Worth. That gives me a 15 minute drive to work and a 10 minute drive to church. Most importantly there is a Walmart in Decatur. It is the biggest town outside of Ft. Worth in our direction. I couldn't move to a smaller town than Nacogdoches. Ha. I have ventured out this week and found all the "hot" shopping spots. It is funny how my car just finds its way to shopping. I am not sure how that happens.

Here's a picture of our new house. We are renting for a year until we find an area that we are interested in buying a home. The girls love the house. They call it the "blue house". Kind of funny since Rocky lived in the "Bleu House" during college. I promise that this one is not the dump he lived in during college.

One of our former youth from Deer Park, TX got married this weekend in Nacogdoches. She married a Nacogdoches boy. Anyway, the wedding was here at his home church since their church meets in at a high school. Julie, our former youth, is such a precious young lady. We have been friends with her family for years. Her dad, BJ, was Rocky's youth minister growing up. Rocky surrendered to the ministry under BJ. They hold a special place in our hearts. Anyway, Julie's grandmother brought her dog, Maverick, with her and he could not stay at the hotel. Soooo, we "babysat" for her. My girls fel in love with him even though he was only with us two days. Parker did not want him to leave. Anna Beth is still skiddish of animals. I can't believe that she actually picked Maverick up and held him...but she did. Parker held him the entire time. She kept calling him "fabric" instead of Maverick.

Babysitting Emma Grace

We had a great experience this week...our first babysitting job for Parker and Anna Beth. On Wednesday, the girls watched Emma Grace while her mommy went to the spend some time at the salon. They had so much fun. Anna Beth learned how to pick Emma Grace up correctly and hold her on her own hip. Exactly, what hip? I laughed so hard at Anna Beth trying to stick out her hip to sit Emma Grace on it. We do know that Emma Grace likes Disney Channel, just like my girls. They had a great time. Today my first born is nine years old! Wow! Today is all about her. She started with her favorite breakfast...Shipley's donuts. Then she got dressed in her new outfit from Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Reba Jane...picked out by Mrs. Reba Jane, of course. Her daddy picked her up at 11:00 for their lunch date. When lunch is over she and a friend, Chloe Skidmore, will go to Nails 2000 for a manicure and pedicure. She is so excited about that.

Today Anna Beth had 10 1/2 inches of hair cut off for "Locks of Love." Locks of Love is an organization that uses real hair to make wigs for children who have lost their due to certain types of diseases like cancer. You must have 10 inches to make a donation. Anna Beth learned about this program when Rocky's youth intern donated her hair to the organization. We thought it would be fun to show you our before and after pictures. Anna Beth is very excited about her new haircut but more than that she is excited that a child will get to use her hair.

This past week was spring break. We made a quick trip home to Louisiana to see family. Papaw and Nanny have a new puppy, Gus. Parker immediately wanted Gus as her own. The weather today was too beautiful not to enjoy some time outside. The Johnson's and the Skidmore's went for a bike ride. After a bike ride we played touch football and frisbee at the SFA football stadium. Our children had a blast. They were sad about returning home.

Today was not Parker's first game, it was her second game. She played her first game on February 18 when the weather was 30 degrees. After 20 minutes Rocky pulled us out of the game. Our team was crying from the cold and drizzling rain. Parker's fingers were so red. Today was her second game and the weather was perfect. She didn't want to play because her team played boys. Here are a few shots of her playing. Like her sister, she loves soccer.

Anna Beth's First Spring Soccer Game

Today was Anna Beth's first soccer game for the spring season. They won 4 - 1. Anna Beth scored 2 goals. She has scored 2 goals in two years in soccer. She is improving so much. Here are some pictures of her playing. Her coach has made such a difference in her playing skills. She has so much more confidence and aggressiveness. She loves to go to practice and loves to play. That's the reason we keep signing up each year.

East Texas High School Rodeo Association Competition

Today was a fun day for the Johnsons'. We went to church this morning and to a high school rodeo competition this afternoon. One of our students, Owen Gayler, competed today in team roping. Our children loved it...Parker especially. She found a friend, a black lab, and could not take her hands off of him. The team roping was not a success today for Owen and Travis but all in all it was a good day.

Here's a picture of us around our Christmas tree. We enjoyed our time in Louisiana visiting family. It was nice to be home for a few days and nice to return to our home before school started again. This is a especially when I enjoy being a teacher when I can be at home when the girls are at home.

Anna Beth is eight years old and will be nine years old this summer. She is growing and changing daily. Parker is five years old and will be six years old at the end of August. She also starts Kindergarten this fall. I am nervous about that adventure. The girls are such a joy to our lives. We are so blessed to have such wonderful children.

Rocky just celebrated four years at First Baptist Church as the youth/recreation minister. I am in my first year of teaching in Nacogdoches at Mike Moses Middle School. It was hard to go back to work after being home for five years. I still come home and collapse after a long day.
