Only Parker

Sometimes you find yourself lucky to catch a moment on camera. I had such luck. I caught my six year old daughter singing in the bathtub. She was having a great time until she saw my camera. I couldn't resist sharing the moment with you.

Christmas with the Johnson Family

After Christmas we headed to Bossier City to spend time with Rocky's family. We had a great time opening gifts and hanging out with Nana and PopPop. We also went to see MeMaw and PePaw, the girls' great grandparents. After that we headed down to the Boardwalk to spend some of our Christmas money. It didn't take the girls long to do that. They made a stuffed animal at the Build-a-Bear store.

Nana and MeMaw. MeMaw played the piano for us. She is 89 years old.

Christmas Eve with the Arrant Family

Each year my dad's family gathers at my parent's house for a time of fun, fun, fun! We spend alot of time catching up and eating. It makes for a great night. Here are a few pictures of our time together.

My dad is the oldest Arrant sibling. This is his family. My parents are on the fireplace hearth. My brother (Darrell), his wife (Denetta), and their daughter (Megan) are on the left side of the photo. My sister (Gaye), her husband (Ricky), and their children (Adam, Kristin, and Wes) are on the right side. Me and my gang are in the center.

Second in line is my Aunt Martha. She is in the center of the photo. Her daughter (Karen) and husband (Joe) is on the left side. Her great granddaughter (Kristen) and family are on the right side.

Next is my Aunt Shirley. She is the one that most resembles my grandmother-her mother. I like to say that she is the one with all the "grace and mercy." Her son (Donnie), wife (Samantha) and children (Rachel and Britney) are on the left side. He daughter (Libby), husband (Jim) and children (JoBeth and Jason) are on the right side.

Last but not least is my Uncle Jimmy's family. He lives in New York and did not come in for Christmas this year. However, Shane, his oldest son, and family drove in from Garland, TX to join us.

Anna Beth with her Christmas Eve gift...dry erase board and Expo pens...her favorite. She was a real trooper considering that she was sick (throwing up) that night. She still found within her to smile for the camera. My sunshine girl!

The older great grandchildren decided to draw names and exchange presents since they are too old to get gifts on Christmas Eve from their mom and dad.

Anna Beth's surprise present

For Christmas this year, Rocky and I pulled our own little surprise for Anna Beth. She received a poster of Clint Dempsey that I made from her favorite photos. But the best part was that our friend, Patti Goodrum, chased down Clint in Nacogdoches and had him sign it for Anna Beth. She loved the poster but was really surprised when she saw it was signed by Clint. Clint liked the poster so much that Patti made a copy for him for his mom for Christmas. I videotaped AB opening her poster. I laughed at how crazy we sounded on the video. Enjoy!

A Closer Look at Decatur, Texas

Today I decided to take a driving tour of Decatur. Good thing I had my camera with me. I found some great old buildings and a lot of history. Decatur has much to see once you get away from the interstate.

This is the Whistle Stop Cafe. It has great breakfast food and the biggest pancakes I have ever seen. We took the girls to eat breakfast there this morning. They both ordered pancakes and neither girl could finish it. Come see us and we will stop by and eat lunch or breakfast.

This is the gas station next to the Whistle Stop Cafe. It was build with petrified wood and is now stone. It is so cool.

This is the castle that I have been hearing so much about. It is called El Castile. Rumor has it that when this castle was occupied back during the depression era that a gambling ring was being run out of the basement. Of course, that's just rumor.

And last but not least, my favorite sign...Eighter from Decatur. I wish I knew what this meant. I have heard that it refers back to the gambling ring.

Ranger and Rowdy

Meet Rowdy and Ranger. They are Janet Rutledge's new puppies. BJ, her husband and our pastor, bought them for her for Christmas. Aren't they the cutest? Our daughters think so. They had a great time playing with the puppies.

This is Parker and Ranger. She could not keep her hands off of him. She left wanting a puppy of her own. She is going to have to wait until we have a yard to have her own.

This is Anna Beth and Rowdy. He was definitely the hyper one of the two. He would play and play and then pass out asleep. We laughed and laughed at him.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Johnson's. We hope this year you have a blessed time worshipping our Savior. Life is good all the time. All the time life is good.

We were enjoying the snow we received in Decatur. If you look closely you can see the snow falling. Our girls were sad they did not get out of school to play in the snow.

High School Musical

Our family spent December 16, 2006, in Bossier City, LA. Our Christmas present to our girls were tickets to see High School Musical the Concert. We went with the Skidmore family. I have never seen so many screaming children in my life. I have a million pictures to share with you but I first had to share the video of Chloe and Anna Beth after the concert was over. Here are their thoughts about the concert.

Here are just a few photos I took from the concert. We had such a great time. I wish I could have just videotaped the girls' reactions to the concert. That would have been priceless. The pictures are in order of appearance. Hope you enjoy.
